Doctors Not Displaying for Signature for Blue Forms?
published by: adminThere you are ready to print out a patient’s blue card (Form 680), but where is the doctor’s signature for electronic certification? When a Florida SHOTS account is activated, the doctor is often signed up as a system user so that his or her name appears as a selection for a certified 680 electronic signature. But in reality, the doctor might not use the system at all. This can lead to expired passwords and inactive accounts for the following reasons. Because of security protocols, the password for a user must be reset every 30 days and if that user does not log on to the Florida SHOTS system within 60 days of the password expiration, the User ID becomes inactive. Since the doctor never logs on this is when the doctor’s name disappears from the drop down menu for electronic certification.
There is an easy fix to this problem. Your system administrator has the tools and the authorization to make changes to the personnel listed in your Florida SHOTS account. If the doctors in your office do not log onto the Florida SHOTS system, but do want to electronically certify blue cards, change the doctor’s status from a system user to a non-system user. This is done by editing the Authorized User/Personnel Information for the particular person you are updating. In the top half of the screen, simply uncheck the system user box and clear the end date box. This will keep the doctor’s name in the system for your electronically certified blue cards, but won’t remove the doctor as a selection due to an inactive account.
