Florida SHOTS™: Keeping SHOTS in Check

Tell us how using Florida SHOTS has helped your practice. Did using electronically-certified Form 680s let you help more children get to school during the rush? Were you able to help a patient when you pulled their immunization history? Share your stories with us and let others know how great Florida SHOTS is. Please do not include any confidential information including items such as patient names and addresses, medical history, etc. and you do not need to leave any identifying information about yourself either.

Have you ever found yourself staring at the computer screen wondering how to add a record or run a report? You know you’ve done it before, but the process is just not coming at this moment when you need the information. Quick and easy how-to’s are available in the Florida SHOTS system without logging out or taking up all your time.

Click on Customer Support in the menu then click on Web Based Training in the expanded submenu. These modules are organized so that you can easily find the information you need. Use them to refresh your knowledge and find new ways to get the most out of Florida SHOTS. All users should also go through these modules before entering patient information. The entire training takes less than one hour so you won’t be stuck in training when you need to attend to patients.

We’ve made some recent changes to Florida SHOTS that will make using the system easier and give you more options than before.

Searching for patients can be a time-consuming task. Duplicate entries and similar names make it hard to determine if the Florida SHOTS record is for your patient. An “extend search” option has been added to the Patient Search screen to help narrow down your results. “Extend search” allows you do a deeper search for patient records if your initial search does not initially bring up the patient you’re looking for. This option will find names that match with different spellings and “sound alikes.”
