Check Out Our New Features!
published by: Stephanie T.Florida SHOTS is working hard to bring you newer and better tools that help you manage your patients and get faster record results.
You can take advantage of these features immediately:
- Patient Record Merge History - Providers can view a record that has been previously merged with another and verify those results. If the results appear questionable, call 877-888-7468 immediately.
- Reminder Recall Report - Reports can now be generated based on specific vaccines and doses.
- Immunization Status - Updated to address special circumstances when a minimum due date is used instead of a recommended due date.
County Health Departments can generate a Vaccine Forecast Demand report based on the date the report is run, that includes actual inventory.
Check the Florida SHOTS Users’ Guide, Web Based Training modules, and the Important System Changes document to learn about these features.

Our office recieved a call form one parent who used to be our patient then went to health department for updates of the vaccination. This parent was furious because whoever gave the shots at the health dept did not bother to call our office and verify the shot record at the fl shots. The health dept just gave the shots and told mom that our office did not update the shots at the fl shots. Where did Fl shots became the sole God and not even bother to call the previous provider specially if the child is almost 2 yrs of age and there is questionable shot record. Of course, every practice if in doubt about the shot record -must call and try to get the shot record from the previous provider… and considering this is the health dept.

Florida SHOTS is used by local county health departments as well as other immunization providers to verify the immunization status of a patient when a valid shot record has not been provided to them. When in doubt, the healthcare provider should try to obtain a valid shot record for their patient by the protocols established by the office. By keeping patient records up-to-date in Florida SHOTS, healthcare providers can ensure that their patients maintain proper immunization status, even when those patients visit other healthcare providers.

WEll. I think mom’s should carry children’s immunization records always with them like I do. The point is I’ve been calling to get my kids the flu shot apparently they tell me they only have it for 6moths to 35months, I’m kind of disappointed because it doesn’t matter the ages they should have it for everyone that is a pt, that has a Dr. Providers should be more aware they can always check on the status of the app. if they app. for the vaccine I will be calling the Health Department, and see what they required.
