Default Patient data entry

Sarasota Memorial has signed on with Fl shots and would love to get feedback from other hospitals regarding work flow especially patient data entry. We are quite busy and want this program to work as efficiently as possible and would like to know how everyone else gets this information in. Thx Deb K.

Deb,
We are a multi provider, Primary Care office and have found the best method for data entry was to install an interface between our EMR system (e-MDs) and Florida Shots. If your facility has the option to do so, I would highly recommend it. It was an additional expense for our office, it has increased productivity by helping to reduce the time needed to upload the data. Basically anytime a staff member enters immunization data into our system for a patient, it is uploaded directly to Florida Shots. Currently the interface only allows for us to upload data, but I hope that in the very near future, it will be bi-directional and allow us to download directly from Florida Shots.
Hope it helps,
Chris
